Armenia, Ghana discuss regional issues, cooperation

On October 15, within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement ministerial meeting in Kampala, Uganda, Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abazyan met with James Gyakye Quayson, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ghana.

The two discussed ways to fully employ existing opportunities in Armenian-Ghanaian relations. Deputy Minister Abazyan briefed his counterpart on recent developments in the South Caucasus.

They also reviewed prospects for expanding cooperation within international organizations and multilateral formats.

Preparations for the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in Yerevan in 2026, were discussed, along with Armenia’s vision for the event.

On August 8, a trilateral meeting hosted at the White House brought together Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. A joint declaration summarizing the Washington talks was signed. Armenian FM Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani FM Jeyhun Bayramov also preliminarily signed a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan during the meeting.
