Armenia’s Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan and Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan participated in the annual high-level meeting of the Constituency Group of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank (WB) governors held in Washington, within the framework of the institutions’ Annual Meetings.
In his address, Minister Hovhannisyan discussed Armenia’s constructive reforms carried out as part of the national peace agenda. He also reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to deepening regional cooperation and promoting sustainable development.
The meeting brought together representatives from the IMF, World Bank, and member countries of the Constituency Group, who reviewed the global economic landscape, explored ways to strengthen cooperation, and outlined shared strategic development goals. The gathering concluded with participants sharing their national and regional visions.
At the conclusion of the event, member countries reaffirmed their dedication to multilateral cooperation and joint efforts toward economic development.
On August 8, during a trilateral meeting at the White House, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration reflecting the outcomes of the Washington summit. Foreign ministers Ararat Mirzoyan of Armenia and Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan preliminarily signed the “Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations.”
