Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced on Facebook that the first shipment of Kazakh grain will soon enter Armenia via the Azerbaijani and Georgian railway networks.
“It’s good that much has already been said — now let me add this: the first batch of Kazakh grain will soon arrive in Armenia via the Aktau–Baku route, then through Azerbaijani and Georgian railways. Peace is established,” Papoyan wrote.
His statement followed an announcement by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on the transit of cargo bound for Armenia.
Aliyev said: “The first such shipment was grain sent from Kazakhstan to Armenia. I believe this is another good example that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia now exists not only on paper, but also in practice.”
Armenia has welcomed this announcement. Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan wrote on Facebook that the move is important for opening regional links, building trust, and institutionalizing peace, in line with Washington agreements.
