Yerevan hosts Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue forum

A bilateral roundtable with the participation of Armenian and Azerbaijani civil society representatives is being held in Yerevan on October 21–22, according to a statement from the Center for Security Policy Studies.

The discussions, which began on October 21, focus on initiatives to build trust between the two societies.

“Among other topics, the agenda includes the peace process shaped after the August 8 meeting in Washington, trust-building initiatives, possible avenues for stable economic cooperation in the South Caucasus, and the prospects for direct and long-term ties between the civil societies of both countries,” the statement reads.

Separately, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan has lifted all restrictions on the transit of goods to Armenia. The decision, made public during a joint press briefing with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has been welcomed by Yerevan.
