My Step denies receiving $1.5 million from SOCAR

The My Step Foundation has denied reports circulating on Russian Telegram channels claiming it received a $1.5 million donation via the Azerbaijani state oil and gas company SOCAR.

"In response to reports on Russian Telegram platforms, we declare that the foundation has never received financial support or donations from Azerbaijani or any other suspicious foreign sources, nor has it ever engaged in any type of transaction with them. Such allegations are baseless and do not reflect reality.

Our reports are open to the public, and anyone can access information regarding annual donations and financial flows. These reports are available on the foundation's official website. Moreover, the foundation undergoes an independent audit every year.

Donations are managed through internationally recognized transparent mechanisms. Publication of this information follows approved procedures, respecting the rights of donors who choose to remain anonymous.

Maintaining such confidentiality is a fully legal and common practice in the operations of charitable organizations and the humanitarian field in general.

The foundation publishes its annual financial and activity reports on its website.

The My Step Foundation has never engaged in any transaction that would compromise the principles of transparency and credibility in its operations.

The circulating claims about receiving transfers from Azerbaijani sources are entirely disinformation," the statement concludes.

According to reports on Russian Telegram platforms, the My Step Foundation allegedly received a $1.5 million donation through European companies, with the ultimate sender being the Azerbaijani SOCAR oil and gas company.
