He added that he is proud of his parliamentary group.
During a recent National Assembly session, Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan addressed the "I Have Honor" opposition faction, stating that "the entire political career of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is built on lies."
"I want to understand how much strength and energy an RPA representative must have to stand here and talk about lies. Your entire political career, your logo, your leader, is a lie. That’s why you lost power," Simonyan said, as reported by Radar Armenia.
He added that former president Serzh Sargsyan lied so often that the public eventually said, "enough lies."
"And let’s not forget that you launched an impeachment motion, and only 24 voted for it. You couldn’t even gather 34. You’re right not to show up in the chamber. You’re right to be ashamed," he said.
Simonyan also praised the ruling "Civil Contract" faction, commending his colleagues' work and political development.
Referring to Civil Contract MPs, he stated: "Dear colleagues, I carefully listen to all your speeches as part of my work, and I must say—I’m proud of our faction. Over these five years, we’ve produced weighty political figures." the Speaker concluded.
