Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and President of the French Senate Gérard Larcher met to discuss ways to deepen the strategic partnership between Armenia and France, emphasizing that current bilateral ties already span key sectors. They also reviewed future steps and potential new initiatives.
Special attention was given to recent developments in the South Caucasus. Minister Mirzoyan presented a detailed account of the latest regional processes and outlined Armenia’s vision and position on achieving peace and comprehensive development in the region. He also emphasized the importance of realizing Armenia’s potential as a regional communications hub.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Mirzoyan wrote in the Senate’s Guest of Honor Book:
“It is a privilege to once again be hosted in the Senate of the French Republic, this house of democracy and rule of law. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President Gérard Larcher for his warm welcome, which truly reflects the strong Armenian-French friendship. I reaffirm my deep appreciation to President Larcher and all members of the Senate for their consistent commitment and resolute voice in support of the exceptional Armenia-France relationship. May these exceptional ties continue to flourish, based on our shared universal values, common history, and steadfast friendship.”
Also present at the meeting were Cédric Perrin, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces; Gilbert-Luc Devinaz, head of the France-Armenia friendship group; and Alain Cadec, Deputy Chair of the Senate’s European Affairs Committee.
