Yerevan to host European cultural forum in 2026

Representatives from Armenia participated in the 14th Advisory Forum organized by the Council of Europe within the Cultural Routes program. The event took place in Turkey’s Cappadocia region, as announced by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Levon Hovhannisyan, who emphasized the importance of advancing cultural dialogue.

Yerevan is set to host the 15th edition of the European Cultural Forum in 2026.

“The forum unites European cities and institutions around shared values: preserving culture, education, and heritage.”

Armenia’s delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (MoESCS) and Yerevan Municipality. Lilit Poghosyan, Head of the Department for Preservation and Development of Cultural Heritage at MoESCS, also attended the forum.

I was honored to speak on behalf of the Government of Armenia, particularly the MoESCS, and the Yerevan Municipality, officially inviting our partners to the 15th Advisory Forum to be held in Yerevan in September 2026.

It will be a landmark event, marking a significant moment in European cultural cooperation.

During the forum, I presented Armenia’s and Yerevan’s cultural, educational, and creative potential, highlighting our country’s contribution to fostering European cultural dialogue.

We will do everything in our power to ensure the 2026 forum in Yerevan is held at the highest level, worthy of our city’s and country’s rich cultural legacy.

Today, Armenia proudly participates in six Cultural Routes certified by the Council of Europe, and we are committed to expanding our involvement in this international initiative,” Hovhannisyan said.
