Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly Andranik Kocharyan told reporters at Yerablur that the October 27 case must be fully investigated.
“We have always believed that October 27 should have been solved the very next day. Hrant Matevosyan once said, ‘October 27 should have been uncovered on October 28.’ I still think there’s a chance for full disclosure,” he said, according to Auroranews.am.
According to Kocharyan, there are important witnesses who are currently outside Armenia and have not been questioned, but their testimonies could prove decisive.
“We have a great deal of work to do in fully revealing the October 27 case. The Prosecutor General once promised that uncovering this case would be a matter of national honor,” Kocharyan added.
October 27 marks the 26th anniversary of the 1999 terrorist attack in the Armenian parliament, which claimed the lives of Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan, Parliament Speaker Karen Demirchyan, and other top officials.
