Foreign Minister: Yeraskh-Sadarak route must be unblocked

Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the Yeraskh–Sadarak railway section must also be unblocked, highlighting that unblocking regional infrastructure cannot be partial.

“This should be either an organic beginning or continuation of broader regional unblocking. It makes no sense to have the railway running through southern Armenia operational while the one through Nakhichevan remains idle,” Mirzoyan said, as reported by Radar.am .

He emphasized that without unblocking this specific segment, the entire concept would be ineffective: “It is supposed to be simultaneous.”

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced that all restrictions on transit cargo from Armenia had been lifted. Yerevan welcomed the move, with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stating in Parliament that Armenia is ready, effective immediately, to enable freight transit from Turkey to Azerbaijan and vice versa via the Margara–Yeghegnadzor–Sisian–Goris route.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk also confirmed that Azerbaijan is prepared to allow Russian goods to transit through its territory to Armenia.
