Under the leadership of Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, a consultation was held to discuss the ongoing process of establishing a new institution for personal data protection, according to the Ministry of Justice.
Participants emphasized that the creation of such a body is essential for reinforcing the institutional foundations of data protection in Armenia.
The issue of personal data protection has gained heightened importance amid the rapid growth of the information technology sector. This expansion has brought new challenges, including data leaks and emerging forms of digital fraud.
