Vice‑speaker Ruben Rubinyan said the opposition does not hide its intent to replicate the Gyumri scenario across the country in the 2026 elections, and that authorities will act to stop it.
Ruben Rubinyan, vice‑speaker of the National Assembly, wrote on his Facebook page that the opposition “does not even hide” that what they want is a repeat of Gyumri on a nationwide scale in the upcoming parliamentary elections, and that “we will disrupt that.”
Rubinyan wrote that both the opposition and “their fake catholicos” openly seek to recreate the Gyumri events during nationwide voting. He warned that only one thing should differ: “if the Gyumri scenario is repeated on a nationwide scale, the security structures will no longer let them get away with their holy work of taking bribes.”
“This is the plan that we all must prevent next year. Forgive us, of course, all the bribers, but we will certainly disrupt them,” the MP wrote.
Parliamentary elections in the Republic of Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
