On October 31, Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan met with Françoise Jacob, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Armenia, to discuss ongoing programs in employment, labor policy, demographics, social support, and human capital development.
Jacob emphasized the importance of continued effective cooperation with the ministry and reaffirmed the UN’s readiness to support the development of Armenia’s social protection sector. She noted that various UN agencies are actively involved in Armenian programs aimed at advancing the field.
Minister Torosyan praised the UN's role in enhancing the country’s social protection system, noting that the trust and efficiency built over the years form a solid basis for long-term collaboration.
The meeting also addressed potential strategies for developing Armenia’s care economy and discussed the country’s upcoming participation in the World Social Summit. Both sides confirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation.
