The Aragatsotn Diocese says that the Talin Municipality undertook works within the church grounds without consultation or blessing.
According to a statement, the Municipality has begun work in the churchyard, without any discussion with the Administrative Council of the Diocese.
“The municipality decided on its own to dismantle and renovate the fence of the church grounds without informing the Diocesan Administrative Council and without obtaining a blessing. From early morning, they started dismantling. The church, with all its grounds, belongs to the Mother See.”
The statement stresses that although they are always ready to cooperate with those who reach out for the implementation of construction works in the church, they strongly condemn this disregard for proper procedure.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, after participating in services at Hovhannavank, announced that on November 9, he will attend the service conducted by Father Tade in Talin.
