The French Ambassador to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies, congratulated Armenia on the launch of the visa liberalization process with the European Union. He shared his message on X.
“Congratulations to Armenia on taking a decisive step towards visa liberalization with Europe,” wrote the ambassador.
Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs of the European Commission, Johannes Luchner, handed Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, the roadmap outlining the actions required for visa liberalization. The document includes reforms Armenia must undertake in areas such as security, border control, human rights, and others.
Armenia and the European Union announced the start of their visa liberalization dialogue in September 2024. Since then, active meetings and official exchanges have supported the steady progress of negotiations.
