Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented updated statistics on the salaries of Armenia’s contract military personnel during a government session.
According to him, 1,559 contract soldiers in the rank-and-file category receive monthly salaries of 300,000 to 400,000 AMD. Another 1,156 soldiers are paid between 400,000 and 500,000 AMD, while 523 earn between 500,000 and 600,000 AMD, as reported by Aysor.am.
An additional 244 soldiers are paid between 600,000 and 700,000 AMD, and 31 servicemen receive salaries of 700,000 AMD or more.
Pashinyan said he specifically inquired whether the service conditions and eligibility for such higher wages are equally accessible to other contract soldiers.
“It comes down to the type of military unit and certification outcomes, and these are accessible to all servicemen, which is an important point,” he noted.
