The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) of Armenia will convene on November 13 to discuss suspending the electricity distribution license (No. 0092) of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), according to an official announcement.
The issue arises amid ongoing administrative proceedings against ENA. Acting head Romanos Petrosyan recently noted that the process is nearing completion.
This development comes in the context of a July 22 decision by the Emergency Arbitration of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, which ordered Armenia to refrain from enforcing certain provisions of the recently adopted Law on Energy and Law on the Regulatory Commission against ENA, and to halt steps toward the potential expropriation of the utility.
Armenia’s government responded by stating that while it respects the arbitration decision, the purpose of appointing a temporary administrator differs from the dispute’s subject, and that domestic law must still be observed.
