Armenia’s poverty rate dropped by 2 percentage points in 2024, reaching 21.7%, compared to 23.7% in 2023, according to Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan. He shared the update on his official Facebook page.
“We also recorded a historic low in extreme poverty — 0.6%, compared to 1.1% in 2023, a 0.5 percentage point decrease,” Torosyan noted.
He emphasized that these are the lowest poverty and extreme poverty rates in the history of the Republic of Armenia.
“This is for the information of the rejected one who, just a few days ago, claimed that the poverty rate in Armenia is now higher,” he added, referring to a recent political statement.
