Pashinyan vows to publish Artsakh negotiation package this year

During a press briefing at the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the promise to disclose the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation documents. He stated that “by the end of the year, the OSCE Minsk Group will be dissolved,” which would enable the Armenian side to freely publish the negotiation package.

He added that he had instructed the declassification of a letter sent by Armenia’s third President Serzh Sargsyan to the leader of another country, according to "Pastinfo".

“How many months have I been talking about this? If people reflect, they’ll understand what changed and why I’m saying ‘by the end of the year’ now. When the documents are published, I may comment on why this particular timing was chosen. There is a reason.”

Pashinyan reiterated that the publication had been previously discussed months ago, and he had instructed preparations of the documents. He emphasized that the negotiation package is not solely Armenia’s property. It is assumed that the OSCE Minsk Group will be dissolved de jure by year-end, which would remove moral and political barriers to publication.

“This entity will no longer exist, and we will be free to release those documents,” Pashinyan stated.

Former President Serzh Sargsyan responded to Pashinyan’s announcement regarding the documents, referencing the Prime Minister’s earlier interview where he pledged publication by year-end.

“The important thing is that at least we managed to extract a promise to publish the negotiation documents. Let’s see,” said Sargsyan.
