Armenian PM says peace, not parades, is priority

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a parliamentary Q&A that while a military parade held in November or December would be “very impressive,” the government is currently focused on promoting peace.

“There are differing views—some say we should hold a parade, others say we shouldn’t, each for various reasons. After Azerbaijan’s recent military parade, the topic resurfaced. But we also understand that this is part of our information security; we don’t want misinformation spreading,” Pashinyan said, as reported by Auroranews.am .

He stressed that the current government agenda centers on peace.

Earlier, Pashinyan had stated he was willing to showcase Armenia’s newly acquired weapons and military equipment to political figures and citizens alike. He encouraged forming 50-person groups with designated coordinators to participate in such viewings.
