Under the leadership of Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan, the Ministry of Justice has developed a clear roadmap outlining specific actions, deadlines, and responsible bodies for implementing tasks stemming from the Armenia–EU visa liberalization action plan. The ministry emphasized the importance of progress in areas such as anti-corruption, human rights protection, and data security.

Key reform directions include:

  • Introducing data processing and ethics regulations within the Civil Registry Agency
  • Ensuring continuity in anti-corruption measures aligned with international obligations
  • Enhancing institutional capacity for personal data protection and forming a dedicated authority
  • Improving frameworks for legal assistance
  • Accession to relevant international sectoral conventions
  • Strengthening human rights protection and anti-discrimination mechanisms
  • Implementing policies to promote legal equality

Progress will be monitored through periodic assessments based on detailed reports.

The meeting also addressed joint programs with development partners and international organizations, as well as upcoming initiatives.

European Commission Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs, Johannes Luchner, has handed Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, the action plan for visa liberalization dialogue. The document outlines reforms Armenia must implement in areas such as security, border control, and human rights.
