Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, on a working visit to Cyprus, met with Tasos Tzionis, Cyprus’ National Security Advisor and Director of Intelligence. The two officials discussed the evolving peace situation in the South Caucasus and actions being taken within that context.
At Tzionis’s request, Grigoryan presented the progress of preparatory work for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity. Grigoryan expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised the high-level political relations between Armenia and Cyprus, emphasizing the value of continued dialogue and senior-level visits.
The parties exchanged views on various aspects of the political agenda between the two countries, including opportunities for cooperation in multilateral formats. Grigoryan also thanked Cyprus for its consistent support of Armenian institutions.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further cooperation to fully harness their partnership’s potential, strengthen bilateral friendship, and advance mutual interests.
In Washington, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and U.S. leaders—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—formally agreed to launch the Trump Route. According to Trump, the corridor will allow Azerbaijan access to Nakhchivan while respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. The partnership also grants the U.S. exclusive cooperation rights, with the route potentially leased for up to 99 years, renewable for another 99 years. Major infrastructure developments and U.S. investments are expected, promising economic benefits for all three nations.
