At the conclusion of negotiations held in Astana, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a joint declaration affirming their decision to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.
Аs Sputnik Armenia reported, citing Kazakhstan’s presidential press service, Tokayev stated that relations with Armenia are now advancing to a strategic level.
In addition to the declaration, the parties signed several agreements, including one concerning the exchange, use, protection, and preservation of classified information. Another document formalized the mutual allocation of land plots for constructing diplomatic mission buildings.
A bilateral roadmap for trade and economic cooperation between 2026 and 2030 was also endorsed. The roadmap outlines concrete steps and directions for expanding collaboration.
Furthermore, memorandums of understanding and other cooperation agreements were signed in areas such as high-tech industry, economy, healthcare, culture, science, and education, involving relevant ministries and agencies.
Prime Minister Pashinyan arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit on November 20. He held talks with President Tokayev in Astana on November 21.
