Speaking from the National Assembly podium, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, an MP from the opposition Hayastan faction, made a public appeal for cooperation among opposition forces.
“All political and civic circles with a national and state-minded perspective must join forces to stop and reverse the current situation,” he said, as reported by Aysor.am .
Saghatelyan presented a five-point proposal:
- Use all legal means to respond to political repression and persecution.
- Fully defend national values and the Armenian Apostolic Church.
- Support political prisoners under the principle that “any political prisoner is everyone’s concern.”
- Eliminate internal smear campaigns within the opposition and focus on the common adversary, the current authorities.
- Ensure joint opposition oversight of the electoral process to prevent abuse of power and misuse of state resources.
He emphasized that full cooperation is possible without undermining each party’s independence or unique programs.
Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
