CIS customs officers to gain cross‑country education access

The Armenian Parliament's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs has given a positive assessment to a draft law aimed at ratifying an agreement between CIS member states that will allow customs officers to pursue higher and professional education across the CIS.

The agreement, signed on September 27, 2024, is intended to facilitate cooperation between educational institutions and provide accessible professional development programs for customs services within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

According to Rafael Gevorgyan, Deputy Chairman of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee, organizational costs for educational or scientific events will be covered by the host institution.

The agreement promotes the exchange of best practices, aims to enhance staff qualifications, and develop joint training programs in customs affairs among participating CIS countries.
