In Brussels, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan and Véronique Petit, Director General of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, regional developments, and the implementation of Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace initiative.
They also reviewed preparations for two major events to be hosted in Yerevan: the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), and the European Political Community (EPC) Summit.
Both sides noted with satisfaction the strong level of cooperation between Armenia and Belgium within multilateral platforms and international organizations, reaffirming their shared commitment to deepen collaboration on issues of mutual interest.
Abisoghomonyan presented the Armenian government’s regional vision, focusing on unblocking transport routes in the South Caucasus and outlined the details of the Crossroads of Peace initiative.
He also elaborated on Armenia’s vision for COP17, stressing the country’s efforts to ensure inclusive participation of all stakeholders in the event scheduled for October 2026.
Detailed discussions were held on the organizational aspects of the EPC Summit, set to take place in Yerevan in May 2026.
