Armenian delegation attends border talks in Azerbaijan

Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev co-chaired the 12th meeting of the commissions on border delimitation and border security between Armenia and Azerbaijan on November 28 in the Azerbaijani city of Gabala.

According to Armenia’s Foreign Ministry, it was positively noted that this latest meeting was held on the territory of one of the parties, specifically in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

During the session, the parties confirmed their agreement reached at the 11th meeting on January 16, 2025, to begin comprehensive border delimitation from the northern section, where the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia converge, and to continue southward toward the point where the Armenia-Azerbaijan border meets Iran.

They held detailed discussions on the organizational and technical aspects of the delimitation activities, as well as draft guidelines outlining the procedure for implementing these efforts.

Grigoryan and Mustafayev also exchanged views separately on matters of mutual interest.

Both sides agreed to determine the date of the next meeting in one of Armenia’s cities through working-level discussions.
