Hayley Alexander: Some growth in tourism sphere is expected in 2002

One of the main tasks of “Competitive Armenian Private Sector- CAPS/USAID” program implemented by US International Development Agency, is systematization of relations between different state structures, Head of CAPS/USAID Program Hayley Alexander told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“National Competitiveness Fund was founded in 2009. This is a new institute and we’d like to coordinate joint activities of the Fund, RA Government and Armenian Tourism Development Agency,” Hayley Alexander said. According to him, although restricted funds are provided for program implementation, every effort will be taken for each party to determine its role and activity sphere instead of separating to use separate means. “The main purpose of current conference is to study markets to enable our further entrance.”

Hayley Zlexander refrained from naming the sum provided for program implementation. “I’ve been repeatedly asked this question, but the work, and not money is important here, and what we’re doing to increase competitiveness in this sphere,” he said.

According to CAPS/USAID program manager, competitiveness in tourism sphere depends on quality improvement for services offered. He noted in this connection that, improved services, joint with Armenia’s culture, architecture, and history can greatly promote country’s competitiveness.

CAPS Program manager also forecasted some growth in RA tourism sphere.
