ACCORDING TO RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR TO BAKU, VLADIMIR PUTIN AND GEORGE BUSH FORTHCOMING VISIT TO AFFECT KARABAKH ISSUES SETTLEMENT POSITIVELY

Commenting the Russian and US presidents’ forthcoming discussion of the Karabakh issue settlement prospective, Russian ambassador to Baku Nikolay Ryabov stated, “the combination of Moscow and Washington’s efforts undoubtedly increases the degree of the security in the South Caucasian region”. The Russian diplomat said the meeting would have a great importance as “the relations of the two countries enter the strategic partnership level”. Speaking about the recent talks of the deputy foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Prague, Ryabov noted the transfer of the conversation to the format of personal representatives’ meetings could not be considered as an evidence of gradual curtailment of the peaceful process. According to him, this format does not leave out the meetings at the highest level and makes for the activation of them.
