This morning Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia Sergey Mironov arrived in Yerevan on a one-day official visit. A group of members of the Federal Assembly of the upper chamber accompanies him. Sergey Mironov will meet with President Robert Kocharian, National Assembly Chairman Armen Khachatrian. Questions of repaying of the Armenian state debt to the Russian Federation, problems of transport communications, situation in Krasnodar territory are planned to be discussed in the course of the negotiations. The Russian legislators will also meet with the heads of the parliamentary commissions, factions and deputy groups. Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II will receive the guests. The delegation members will visit the memorial of the victims of the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey and the exposition of the genocide museum. The Russian legislators will also pay a visit to the Armenian-Russian Slavonic University and will bestow some one thousand volumes of books of Russian classic writers’ works upon it. Tomorrow Sergey Mironov and the members of the accompanying delegation will leave for Tbilisi, then from there – to Baku.
