POTI-“CAUCASUS” PORT FERRIAGE CREATION PROJECT REALIZATION POSTPONED BECAUSE OF FUND LACK

The budget financial strain does not allow Armenia solve the problem with investments necessary for realization of the project of the ferriage in “Caucasus” Russian port. As “De facto” agency reports, Armenian transport and communication Minister Andranik Manukian has stated this in his interview with “Obshee delo” Russian newspaper. According to him, $19 mln is needed to realize the project. The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank discusses the possibility of $12 mln loan granting for acquisition of two ferries. The half of the rest $ 7mln. falls to the share of Armenia but according to Manukian, Armenia does not have such funds either. There is also a problem of freight flow volume guarantee. “If there are businessmen that wish to finance the project, it is might be possible to transfer the state share to private companies”, noted the transport and communication Minister.
