AZERBAIJAN HAMPERS CE EXPERTS’ VISIT TO KARABAKH

The head of the monitoring group under the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers Pietro Erkole Ago confirmed the PACE leadership intention to send a delegation to Stepanakert to familiarize with the situation at the scene. But Azerbaijan continues hampering the Council of Europe experts’ visit to Nagorno Karabakh. Chairman of Azeri Milli Mejlis commission on international affairs and inter-parliamentary relations Samed Seidov stated yesterday that the Council of Europe representatives did not have the right to visit Karabakh until official Baku gives its consent to that. The consent will be given only if “certain conditions” are met, he noted. Let us remind that NKR authorities have addressed PACE suggesting to visit Karabakh to make sure that Azerbaijan’s accusations have nothing to do with the reality. As it is known, official Baku holds that a drug traffic runs through the territory of Nagorno Karabakh and it is used to train terrorists and bury nuclear waste products.
