Russia is ready to provide CIS countries with vaccines against A/H1N1 virus, RF Head Sanitary doctor Genady Onishenko said. During July 2009 conference of CIS countries’ sanitary doctors, Russian experts called on their colleagues to specify and submit to them estimated data of national programs on vaccine prevention.
“We promised to provide assistance to sanitary services. That may be a gratuitous function,” Onishenko said, noting that Russian budget covered expenses for vaccine production in required volumes.
«Colleagues from CIS saniatary services receive it within optimum time-limits required for pandemic prevention. For instance, if we allocate 1 million to Kyrgizstan, that will be a payment with interest,» Onishenko stressed, noting that greater amounts may be required for Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus. «But we have enough resources and will develop them,» gazeta.ru quotes Russia’s head sanitary expert as saying.
