SEVERAL ARMENIAN PARTIES SPEAK WITH INITIATIVE TO RECOGNIZE AT STATE LEVEL FACT OF GREEK GENOCIDE IN TURKEY

The National-democratic union, «Self-determination» union, Ramkavar-azatakan and «Worthy future » parties have addressed the Armenian parliament with the initiative to officially recognize and condemn the fact of the 1919-1922 Greek Genocide in Turkey. Earlier «Patrida» union, union of Greeks residing in Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh, addressed the Armenian President with such a request. It should be reminded that since 1916 Turks carried a purposeful policy aimed at extirpation of Greeks. As a result over 300 thousand Greeks were killed and about 1.5 million escaped. It should be reminded Greece recognized the 1915 Armenian genocide fact in 1996.
