Armenian-Sweden cooperation positive for republic’s labor market

The Armenian-Swedish cooperation has positive impact on Armenia’s labor market, according to the republic’s Labor Minister Gevorg Petrosyan.

“We welcome the cooperation which helps development of efficient strategy and resolution of employment problems,” he said.

Unemployment in Armenia makes some 6.8%. Due to the anti-crisis measures undertaken by the government of Armenia, this figure has not increased.

“The problem is the lack of vacancies for our specialists. Presently, the government is focused on the employment policy which will prevent increase in unemployment rate by the end of 2009,” Minister Petrosyan said.
