ARMENIAN ARMED FORCE UNITS PARTICIPATE IN MILITARY TRAINING IN RUSSIAN TERRITORY

The units of the Armenian armed forces will participate in the joint Armenian-Russian training. According to «Arminfo» reports, today Armenian soldiers left for Russia. According to deputy defense minister of Armenia, major-general Arthur Aghabekian, the training will continue about a month. Armenian soldiers left for Russia to participate in the training with small arms. Heavy armament will be given by the Russian side. “The aim of the exercises is training of the Armenian contingent to fulfill tasks at the attacks, defense and in the struggle against terrorism», the deputy minister noted. This is not the only training in which Armenian soldiers will participate this year. In the nearest future within the NATO «Partnership in the name of piece» program Armenian peacekeeping unit will first participate in the training that will be conducted in Georgia. It should be noted that in 2003 the NATO training will be conducted in Armenia.
