COUNCIL OF EUROPE MINISTER CABINET CHAIR MET REPRESENTATIVES OF OPPOSITION MEDIA

The chair of the Cabinet of ministers of the Council of Europe, the foreign minister of Lithuania Antanas Valionis and the representatives of a number of Armenian opposition media discussed today the situation on the «A1+» company broadcasting. The meeting was organized on the initiative of the Yerevan press-club. At the meeting, «A1+» company head Mesrop Movsisian, editors of «Aravot», «Haikakan Jamanak», «Iravunk», «Fouth power» newspapers briefed Antanas Valionis about chronicle of the events regarding the decision of the National commission for television and radio noting that Valionis, in his turn knew the situation and there had been strict discussions with Armenian foreign minister Vartan Oskanian as well as justice minister David Harutyunian. Valionis stated «the situation should be settled only through legal means, especial because April 16 the sitting of the court on the case of the TV Company will take place». He urged to wait for the court decision.
