The Aram Khachaturian Trio planning world tour

The Aram Khachaturian Trio is planning a world tour. The repertoire, terms and cities are being determined, violin player Karen Shahgaldyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

For her part, pianist and director of Aram Khachaturian house museum Armine Grigoryan noted that the Trio performs compositions of various periods and genres.

“The Trio consists of talented musicians and I am happy for their success,” said Asatur Guzelyan, UK entrepreneur of Armenian descent, who intends to sponsor the tour.

The Aram Khachaturian Trio was founded in 1999 as Arsika Trio and was renamed in 2008. The Trio toured extensively throughout Armenia, Russia, Switzerland, Central and South America. It has also participated in a number of prestigious festivals, such as the Festival de las Artes (Costa Rica) and Festival International Cervantino (Mexico).
