In the last, 10th round of World Junior Chess championship held in Akhisar, Turkey, from September 24 till October 3, Armenian junior chess team (under age 16) beat Turkish players 4:0. Having gained 27 points, Armenian players won Olympic bronze.
Russian team won Olympic champion’s title, beating South Africans 4:0 in the last round. Indian players also beat Turkey 4:0, winning Olympic bronze medal.
Let’s note that Armenian team (chief coach: Tigran Nalbandyan) was represented by grand master Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Tigran S. Petrosyan, Robert Aghasaryan. Hayak Vardanyan and Vahe Baghdasaryan.
