Georgian leader Eduard Shevardnadze stated a woman should become the next President of the country. He stressed that he had already chosen his successor. He did not name her, only mentioning that she is actively engaged in politics. The commentators suppose Speaker of the Parliament Nino Burjanadze is meant. Let us note that from the very beginning of her work as the Parliament head Burjanadze pays special attention to developing relations with Armenia and solution of the problems of Samtskhe-Javakhetia region populated by Armenians. Her recent visit to Akhalkalaki let her win most population’s favor.
