«Waiver of the ban for selling American armaments to Azerbaijan and Armenia does not mean these countries will be arming,» – Azeri Foreign Minister Vilayat Guliyev told «Turan» agency while commenting on the US Administration decision to leave the two feuding states out from the list of the countries, to which it is banned to sell arms produced in USA. In his words, the ban is repealed due to waiver of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act. Guliyev also said that the embargo countermand does not mean selling arms to the countries in unlimited quantities. Most likely certain quotas would be fixed, the foreign department head considers. The Minister indirectly confirmed official Baku’s intention to buy arms from the United States.
