Turkey’s national team chief coach Fatih Terim will leave his after the last qualifying match against Armenia. Fatih Terim made that decision after the Turkish team was defeat by Belgians (0:2) and deprived of even virtual chance of getting into the World Cup 2010 final stage.
“We started the qualifying tournament very well, but then failed to hold the same level. The match with Armenia will be a farewell to me as the chief coach, ” the official website of the Football Federation of Turkey quoted Fatih Terim.
Fatih Terim joined the national team of Turkey in 2005. At Euro 2008, he brought his team to the semifinals, in which the Turks were defeated by the Germans. The most significant achievement of the coach is a victory in the UEFA Cup 2000, together with Galatasaray. He then coached Fiorentina and AC Milan.
The match Turkey – Armenia will be held October 14 in Bursa at the “Ataturk” stadium.
