Customs and tax reform in IT-sphere of Armenia to be discussed in late November

A special working group will be engaged in implementation of tax and customs reforms aimed at the development of information technology industry, Karen Vardanyan , UITE executive director said in Yerevan today. The new program “The customs and tax reforms through cooperation of public and private sectors is being realized with assistance of Counterpart International.

According to him, at the next Council meeting to promote the development of information technologies, RA prime minister Tigran Sargsyan instructed the chairman of the state committee on revenue to establish a working group to address the problems in ITsphere. 

According to Karen Vardanyan the group will face problems of two types: “Revise the problems existing in the sphere and create something new.”

In recent months, UITE submitted to the government of Armenia, a package of legislative reforms relating to the problems of export and import.

Karen Vardanyan informed that discussions and round tables will be held from November 27 to 29, possibly in Aghveran, in frames of the forum of IT managers without ties.
