USA EXPRESSED GRATITUDE TO ARMENIA FOR PROMOTING NEW FORMAT OF KARABAKH SETTLEMENT NEGOTIATIONS

USA expresses gratitude to Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian for promotion of the new format of the negotiations on Karabakh settlement suggested by OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. US Ambassador to OSCE Stephan Minikes stated it while appearing at the conference of the organization Permanent Council. “Mediamax” agency reports, the head of the Armenian foreign department stated in Vienna the day before that Yerevan supported holding negotiations between the Personal representatives of the Armenian and Azeri Presidents. In the US diplomat’s words, the initiative of holding negotiations in new format will become the necessary supplement both to Kocharian-Aliyev dialogue and OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ periodic visits to the region. At the same time Minikes said the most important work should be done by the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
