ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENTS TO APPOINT PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVES TO NEGOTIATE ON KARABAKH CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents have accepted the offer of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs regarding the negotiating at an «additional level». This is stated in the statement of the co-chairs made in Vienna after their visit to the region. It is noted in the document that toward this end, the heads of the two countries will appoint Personal representatives at deputy foreign minister level. In the statement is also noted that «meetings under chairmanship of the Minsk group co-chairs will be held once two-three months». In the statement is stated the first meeting of this kind is planned in May in Prague. In the document is stated that the talks on the new level «will not become a substitute» for direct negotiations of the two Presidents and the activities of the OSCE Minsk group.
