A group of Turkish women have refused to make a visit to Armenia that was planned on March 8, as they are afraid of negative reaction of the Turkish authorities. Armenian parliamentary deputy Hermine Naghdalian has stated this today to the journalists. At the same time she refuted the information spread by Turkish part that there is a woman group for Armenian-Turkish cooperation including Hermine Naghdalian and a number of famous Armenian women. “March 2001 Armenia and Turkey signed a document on cooperation aiming at achieving peace and friendship between the two states but that document does not have anything in common with the false one that has been recently spread”, said Naghdalian. According to her, the information on so-called “woman group for Armenian-Turkish cooperation” as if condemning the Europarliament’s resolution urging Turkey to stop the blockade against Armenian and to recognize Armenian genocide is “clear falsification”. Naghdalian noted that the Armenia part had already sent a note of protest to the European Union and the Council of Europe.
