US SHOULD TAKE SERIOUS MEASURES TO GUARANTEE HUMAN RIGHTS IN AZERBAIJAN, US CONGRESS DISCUSSED

Hearings on the situation of the human rights in Azerbaijan were held in US Congress March 11. Some Congressmen, Azeri ex-Speaker Rasul Guliyev, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Richard Kozlarich delivered speeches on the topic. Baku «Echo» newspaper writes all those appearing shared the opinion that the situation of human rights and development of democracy in Azerbaijan was worsening, and thus USA should take serious measures in the area. The representatives of the Azeri Embassy in Washington refused to participate in the hearings.
