MEETINGS OF PRESIDENTS KOCHARIAN AND ALIYEV SHOULD BE TRANSFERRED TO MORE REGULAR BASIS, ARMENIAN PRESIDENT’S PRESS SECRETARY STATED

As it has already been repeatedly noted, the bilateral meetings of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan were useful and maintain their importance. Press secretary of the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahe Gabrielian told Caspian News Agency answering the question on expediency of continuing Kocharian-Aliyev direct dialogue to find ways for resolving Nagorno Karabakh problem. In spite of the fact that these meetings have not resulted in any final agreement on settling the main problem yet, their role in better familiarization of the parties with each other’s positions, more uninhibited discussion of the possible ways of settlement and, the most important, preserving the cease-fire is indisputable, Armenian President’s press secretary noted. Nevertheless, the necessity to increase the efficiency of these meetings, transferring them to more regular basis is obvious, V.Gabrielian stressed.
