The European parliament has passed a resolution where it is noted that South Caucasus is a strategically important region for the European Union. A firm intention of the EU to strengthen its policy in South-Caucasian region and to support positive processes to the maximum is stated in the document. It is a question of great geopolitical importance of the region and this provides for the settlement of internal conflicts, the development of democracy, the protection of human rights, the assistance to economic growth, the extirpation of corruption and etc. The necessity of international community’s support for peaceful settlement of regional conflicts is emphasized in the resolution.
