Council of Europe experts, who had arrived in Armenia to discuss the project of the law on mass media, clarified the situation around the document. At the press conference held in the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Justice last evening the CE representatives denied their statement made a day before that passing of the law on mass media was not a direct obligation of Armenia to the Council of Europe. As member of the group Ramon Prieto Suarez noted, a blunder took place: passing of the law on mass media is in reality in the list of obligations of Armenia to the Council of Europe. Besides the CE representatives told about the results of the joint work with the group of the bill authors. They noted that concrete agreements were reached that under the direction and on the initiative of the Ministry of Justice the working group would be widened and the elaborated version of the law on mass media would be presented to judgement of CE experts.
